I cant find any for the G5 can you point me in the right direction?

This is what I was talking about, Fre.  If you want to be extra safe throw it in a ziploc bag

Hmm.  A friend of mine used one of this brands cases on his 5s.  Worked fine for at least -10m but I'd take that with a grain of salt as it may have been a different line of cases.

Again, I honestly do suggest a strong and cleat plastic bag like a ziploc or specialized bag designed for this purpose, its what I use

You'll need a hard case designed for the phone with a depth rating of at least 30 meters.

Just save up some more cash and buy an action camera with an underwater housing.

I doubt that exists for any thing that isn't a flagship model from Apple, Sony or Samsung. If it even exists for those.

Yep, I took a look online yesterday and couldn't really find anything that was rated for more than 5 meters or so of depth (snorkeling use).  Found a few models/brands for popular iPhones and Samsung Android phones though.  I have one for my old iPhone 5.

I wouldn't recommend the use of a ziplock bag or soft/flexible plastic bags.  Too risky that something will go wrong.  Using them on the beach while swimming or snorkeling or playing on the surface of the water is fine, but definitely not for diving.  The ziplock or whatever technique used to keep the bag sealed could accidentally open up on a dive whether it gets entangled with the diving gear or due to the diver having to divide his/her attention on managing the buoyancy and depth and time.

I've used 2 zip locks in relatively shallow dives (max 20 feet) but the concerns there are valid.

Here is a vid that may be helpful!
