The iPod line is probably the best you can get. Which one you should get all depend on your needs and the size of your music library, 

A nexus 7 would also be a good choice, but itøs a bit to big for my taste.

Yeah, as said above, any iPod. There really aren't any other MP3 players anymore. Apple just absolutely dominated the market and other companies have since stopped bothering.
