In the past 6 months I got really interested in VR. I bought the GEAR VR and I love it. The only issue I have with it are some blur issues on the sides of the lenses, but otherwise I thought it was amazing. Now I decided to make a move into PC virtual reality. I decided to sell my old gtx 970 along with my late 2012 mac mini. I am looking at buying an oculus rift since it fits nice in my budget. I would like the vive, but its not currently in my budget of $620. I have a couple of questions before I decide to purchase the rift

1. Is the Rift Worth it ($500 Headset + $100 Touch Controllers)?

2. Is there much blur?

3. Will it work well for standing up in VR?

@Sakkura

The Rift is a good piece of tech to get acquainted with. I would highly recommend getting the motion controllers to fully experience what VR can do. Also, if you need a good horror game, A Chair in a Room: Greenwater, is a great starting choice. Richie's Plank is another good "simulation" of how immersed you can become in VR. You'll feel safe since you know that you aren't in danger but, giving it ten minutes, you'll be completely immersed and feeling like you're falling yourself.

I don't own one so I can't say but if you know you love VR already it may be worth it

Want to custom loop?  Ask me more if you are curious

I bought my Rift for 700€ plus 200€ for the Touch controllers, and I'm happy with my purchase. For $500 + $100, it's a pretty great deal.

Blur... well, the resolution is still pretty low. That's just unavoidable at this point. The Rift has much better screens for VR than a phone does, but the resolution is actually no better. Text in particular still gets kinda blurry.

The Rift works well for standing up. For larger roomscale stuff you'd want to add an extra sensor ($60), but that's not necessary from day one.
