Problem after installing the Windows 10 Creators Update

Hey guys,

I just upgraded from the 14393 version of W10 to the Creators update on my main rig. The update went flawlessly but after I type in my password and try to log in, it stays a long time on the "Welcome" screen then it gives me a black screen. Also I saw a GeForce Experience pop up about a newer driver in the bottom left on my screen once. Only once though.

Things I tried so far

1. Open up task manager, and start explorer.exe

2. Boot from the USB Drive with W10 on it and try Start up Repair.

I initially downloaded the Windows 10 Update Assistant to do the upgrade, but I noticed that it takes a long time to download so I created a bootable USB stick with the Media Creation tool, then  started the upgrade. But after it was done, this happened. Got any ideas of what I should do? I really don't wanna do a clean install because I've been using this installation for more than a year and I don't want to lose everything. The specs are in my sig.

Thanks

I heard that the creator's update resets a lot of settings somewhere in this video link.

(Formatting removed to save space. Not a lot of people are fans of this guy either.)

Maybe that will help somehow.

Well I fixed it. I did some research and found out that removing UXStyle, which I had installed. would help. I did that and it works just fine now.

So moral of the story: if you installed anything custom that mucks with the Windows subsystems, uninstall them before updating the OS?
