So guys I have pretty much spent a whole day trying to figure out why i was not able to boot into windows 10 and I found out that it was my secondary hard drive a western digital black 1tb that was causing the issue. Basically I have a 1tb ssd which hold my os and other important files and then i have my WD black for downloads, music etc. and recently the drive had been slow but still working and then suddenly today it just stopped working. It would take forever to access files and sometimes wouldn't even load them. so i thought a quick refresh would fix everything and well windows just couldn't boot with the drive installed and I was not able to even format it in windows I basically cant do anything with this drive when its plugged in.

so what Im wondering is can i still get the data off this drive or is it completely dead? I have not lost anything super important on the drive but i would like to have the data back.

some pictures of the drives have been added for clarity.

Some extra information!! So i have made a bootable usb with windows 10 on it to see if i could just plug in the hard drive and format the drive like that. the drive is recognized in the bios but when it came to loading up the iso from the usb it just got stuck on the windows logo loading and then just went to a black screen. but when i changed it over to my ssd to test if the bootable usb was at fault, It worked just fine with the ssd so i think my drive is dead or so corrupt that i cant save it.

have you tried to connect it to a pc using SATA --> USB adapter? that way you can pull the data off the disk pretty much like a external drive. if you can then just copy the data to store it safe then format the disk. If that doesn't work either then you are out of luck.
