Might be able to shave some off by going w/ a semi-modular Seasonic instead of the Modular 1. But again would be up to Op.

Here you go, It's mainly based on the build Damascus posted above so most of the credit goes to him. If your friend can get $20 together, then I would recommend getting the HDD Damascus originally recommended but if he can't then this will at least you give a computer that can be used until he can save up for a new HDD.
