so after watching linus vid on the 1600x its better not a by a lot be better in most of the benchmarks then the 7600k but the fact it has the extra 2 cores makes it the out right winner due to the fact more cores can help out certain use cases a whole bunch right??

thoughts people

the fact that it's a hex with HT, makes it a better CPU around in my eyes as it lets you do heavily multi threaded loads, e.g. CAD with a machine which doesn't cost a ridiculous price, like intels offerings. I feel that the R5 and the R7 line up is the better choice for many people now cause they can afford more cores for their multi threaded loads and also get enough power for sinple threaded loads which they also need to do

The Cheese Toastie (C2D (of some sort), GTX 760, 3GB, win XP gaming machine)

The Toaster (C2D, intel HD, 4GB, 2X1TB NAS)

Matter of Loaf and death (some old shitty AMD laptop)

windybread (4X E5470, intel HD, 32GB ECC) (use coming soon, maybe)

And more, several more

that was my point 1600x best cpu for a 1440p as in gaming as you get the more cores if you need them but in gaming the 1440p takes load off the cpu helping it catch the 7600k in gaming

The only chips I'd get over a 1600x right now is a 7700k or 6800k/6850k if money wasn't a thing. I'd personally get a 1600x over a 7600k.

depending on the use case if you want to do content work the 1600x is better then the 7700k but gaming 7700k beats the 1600x
