Is there a way I can use my laptop to remotely play overwatch?

DigitalDoofus

So I recently bought a laptop which is running an AMD A12 cpu+gpu combo although it isn't exactly amazing it should be enough to stream a game from my desktop to my laptop, as far as latency goes I have a fairly new switch and ethernet cables at the ready however the issue is how to get this to work at a good framerate. I can't use nvidia game stream as the laptop is running a radeon based GPU nor can I use steam as overwatch isn't a steam game. Does anyone know of any software i can use to achieve this. I would like to use the laptops keyboard and use a mouse that is connected to the laptop

TL;DR Want to remote play overwatch from nvidia desktop to AMD based laptop

You can use Steam's In-House Streaming. All you need to do is add Overwatch to Steam as a non Steam game and it will show up on steam. Then launch Overwatch from the steam library, you'll get full support for in house streaming and the steam overlay and all the other steam goodies.

However, because it is not part of Steam, you might have a few minor issues. But overall, in house streaming plays quite nicely with non steam games.

I suggest you go to the in house streaming forum, and get help there. I haven't used it in a long time. But I was able to get games to work after a bit of troubleshooting.

EDIT: Wow I read something correctly and processed it as incorrect. (I think i need to lie down)

Apologies.

Use Moonlight

http://moonlight-stream.com/

it's, in my opinion, smoother, simpler and less taxing on the computer in general

Yeah that's typically what will fix it. I've done the same thing where I added the launcher not the game exe itself and it didn't work.

However, @VictorianReaper I didn't know that existed. Really cool!

otherwise, it supports mobile devices which, for me was really helpful
