cpu vcore problem

so me and my friend both have similar pc specs. we are both running an i7 6700k and on mine the vcore max hits 1.248 which is fine and i have never had any problems. where as his cpu vcore sits at 1.412 which seems way too high to me. we use the same power supply and same cpu and cooler so what could be causing this? he has just changed his mother board and is still having the same problem. please note that nothing has been overclocked etc everything has always been left at default/auto etc.  all help would be much appreciated, thanks

some mannis have overvolted the VCORE in the UEFI. leaving anything on "AUTO' can have this result.

a bit more info could help in what mobo and config?

Have you tried undervolting it?

the mobo is a Asus ROG Strix Z270F Kaby Lake ATX Gaming Motherboard

when booting, SPAM the 'DEL' key to enter the UEFI.

once in the UEFI, select the F5 key, then the F10 key to save and exit.

let system reboot and return to OS. retry CPU-Z to see voltage used.

it already is at default, same as the old motherboard was, been reset a number of times but always the same 1.412 vcore
