Aight folks,

I couldn't find any topics like this, and I'm curious about the pain threshold from your sides when it comes to buying a gpu + accessory and how long are you planning in using it.

In my case, I like to try stuff from more than just one brand and I really like to find out what's the best performance I can achieve with my hardware.

I run 1 single display in 1440p.

My threshold is usually 1000 USD for the card. Additional I have to pay in an average about 120 extra dollars to get the heatsink for the water cooler.

Usually I change my GPU with every new generation (except for this year I was trying actually a bit more cards).

Are you talking about "paying" threshold?

I'd pay upto 400$ for a GPU (R9 290 is plenty fast for me), and would use it till it feels slow (2 to 2.5 years). I plan on a 1080p IPS panel for my future build, but I would LOVE for a cheaper 1440p IPS panel from the likes of Asus/Dell.

I also like paying extra and getting a higher-than-necessary quality part from the start for my power supply, mouse and keyboard as I'd like them to last a long time (5+ years).

I havent had much of a pc history, started with a nvidia fx7400 which broke and then replaced with a x1300. Afterthat my parents brought a insprion 620 and i brought a 6450 as it was all I could afford, i used that until January this year and then got a 6770 which i quickly replaced for a 7870 xt, I doubt ill be upgrading any time soon. Likely for a gpu upgrade in two years

I have been pretty content with the performance of my GTX560Ti up until now, where it is really starting to show its age. (its about the best one ever made, mind you) but it really all depends on ones budget in comparison to their use case. you allocate how much money you are will to, or can, spend on your pc, and you buy the parts based on what you'll be using it for. I don't think there is much else too it.
