I've been thinking about using one or two Seagate drives in my rig...... Keep thinking about either a BarraCuda Pro or IronWolf Pro. How much of a difference is there, and which would be more worth my money? Or are they both more wasteful then anything else?

But but seagate are unreliable /s

on a serious note what is the purpose?

-_- mass storage for when video editing, animation, ect. Quite frankly, I still don't believe TweekTown is a viable source. I do feel if Linus is willing to put the dam things in his server, they should be reliable enough to have some faith

Ironwolf are aimed towards NAS and will be a bit slower than Barracuda

Yes it's a tweaktown review but can't find anything more reputable. Oh the IRONy

If I were you I'd get ironwolf as it's cheaper

That brings up the IronWolf. How about the Pro version? Or should the same story hold true?

A bit faster based on specs but still fall behind barracuda. The pro also has longer  warranty than non pro if that matters http://www.seagate.com/ca/en/internal-hard-drives/hdd/ironwolf/

From what I've seen, the barracuda pros are actually less then the ironwolf pros. To me, for whatever reason, it just makes sense to have a longer warranty.
