@Adam Boucher you simply click any other partition you have(other than the one where's the windows installed) and press Format. It shows in the menu after pressing right click, just above 'Copy'. That's what you do when you want to format a partition. When you want to wipe everything from a hard drive you have to delete everything even the windows.

he said hard drive xD I thought he wanted to say partition instead of hard drive which means to totally wipe the data from the HDD.

All solid advice in this thread, as it's not completely clear what TS is trying to achieve I thought I'd share this as well:

 

Windows 10 has a reset to default function that lets your keep your personal files and documents if you want to.

 

  1. Navigate to Settings.
  2. Select Update & security
  3. Click Recovery in the left pane. 
  4. Click Get started under Reset this PC
  5. Click either "Keep my files" or "Remove everything," depending on whether you want to keep your data files intact.
