Need help with Ubuntu 16.10

Hey guys so when I got Ubuntu it came with 16.04 and that was fine but the only problem was it would not start steam so I thought maybe it is a problem with the version so I updated it. When I updated it showed the OS boot menu and when I click Ubuntu my monitor comes up with a message saying "no input support" any ideas on how I can fix this.

wow somehow you borked your boot. try reinstall grub with these instructions

http://howtoubuntu.org/how-to-repair-restore-reinstall-grub-2-with-a-ubuntu-live-cd

theres extra stuff you need to install before installing steam, a bunch of 32-bit packages. I kept a list somewhere but i cant find it right now
