So I have a Gigabyte z170x ultra gaming MB and a 7700k CPU.. first when i got the 7700k i had to update the bios to F20 to make the MB compatible with the new CPU.. and it worked fine! Then I saw a new bios update on the gigabyte website that would fix a V core Voltage issue.. And because my 7700k ran at like 1.4v at stock speeds I decided to update to that one..F22 its called.. And after that my hole PC has become very slow. PC games is unplayable because of the FPS drops I get. Before the update it worked just fine and a steady FPS.. now the FPS counter is all over the place and I dont know what to do?.. I have format all the drives and re installed WIndows and all games but the same problem still remains.. So any one that have had this issue? Do I have to buy a new motherboard?

Thankful for answers!

is every thing else updated and if so have you checked to see if the bios update changed any setting to the cpu that would cause this thats just some things i would try

Yes I have checked the CPU settings and first I hit the load optimal settings. then it was as auto on the CPU tried that. and no difference.. have tried my old 6600k and its the same problem.. no matter what i do it just doesnt go away.. Im starting to believe that the bios is corrupting the CPU on some way..

Go back to the previous BIOS and let the manufacturer fix the kinks on the new one.

and I noticed now that when I play games like BF1. when i view OSD from MSI afterburner that GPU usage is like 50% and CPU usage is 100%.. is it not supposed to be 100% GPU and 50% CPU ?

It's supposed to be however your system is actually running, which could be 100% from the CPU and 50% from the GPU under some circumstances.

It's not terribly uncommon for Battlefield 1 to max out an i5, though it's a little unusual to see that with an i7-7700K. I wonder if maybe Hyperthreading somehow got disabled in the BIOS at some point in this whole process.

And another wierd thing is that when i run 3dmark 11 i get X12500 in score in the extreme test.. which is pretty good. but as soon as i play games. it can not handle a stable fps..

I mean i have a 7700k running at 5ghz.. a 1080ti FE running at 2ghz.. 32 gb of 2600mhz ram... it should crush in games... :/
