Hypothetically, if I were to put my computer in the refrigerator. Note: It's aircooled. Would I see any significant improvements? My cpu is over clocked pretty high and so is my graphics card. Because if it would work. I'd rather just buy a mini fridge and then I would plop my computer in.

Yes, until you open the door by accident, something condenses and BOOM!

While this doesn't sound very practical. You will have to worry about condensation building up on the components

Condensation would be a major problem. Theoretically if you could rig a dehumidifier on to it, and make it the intake air, it could work. But that would probably make the fridge burn out in no time

Condensation. It will kill it. Don't bother. Get an air conditioner and keep the room COLD.

I don't think it would go boom.

Also OP, don't sell yourself short. Stick it in the deep freeze if anything.

The compressor on the fridge might not be able to keep up with the heat output of your computer, then your fridge would heat up and have no where for that hot air to go, then your fridge would be hotter that ambient temperature.

If it could, how would you route your power cables?

My dreams have been crushed. I didn't take moisture into account.

Your pc would die but yes. It would go from temp+ x (x= ambient so lets say 20) to temp+ x (ambient in a fridge so let's say 0) It would be temp+ 0 =

If your ambient goes up 5 degrees your pc gets 5 degrees hotter if it gets colder it's the same thing.

My Pc: Cpu: I7 4790k @ 4,8 Ghz @1,25 volts, Motherboard: Maximus VII Formula, Graphicscard: 2x Titan X @1,4 at stock voltage (soon to be replaced), Ram: 32 gb Corsair Dominator Platinum 2133 Cl 9, SSD: 2x 850 Pro 1 Tb in Raid 0, 2x Samsung 840 Evo 1 tb raid 1,, PSU: Corsair HXi Series 1000W 80+ Platinum, Case: H440. Soon to be watercooled again, maybe, probably, the Titans are too loud.

you could get a higher overclock (maybe) because the cooler the cpu the less voltage it needs.

and everything would last longer. I would try it with those silicone humidity-killers or what you wanna call them. those things that come with hardware that say you should not eat them. :D

FYI, silica packs don't absorb moisture indefinitely. Once they're full, they need to be "recharged" by heating them in an oven for several hours in-order to reactivate them. So no, it would not work in this situation.

but for a day it would work, right? just enough to try it out :) keeping your pc in a fridge clearly isn't a 24/7 option.
