Ola Guys,

So my first gen i7 was going great but was able to secure a upgrade for free.  So looking every two weeks putting a little bit of cash into my build and upgrade it till its where I want it till my main rig gets here from shipping.

SO specs:

i7-3770

Asus P8H77-M LE
8GB DDR3 Ram

Asus GT 610 1GB

Generic PSU

500GB Seagate 7200rpm

So got a 1Tb at home I'll throw in (Only a 5200rpm drive, so will be used just for storage) I've got a KB+Mouse but will need a screen, currently running the i7-650 through a 32" TV I've had, going to get the Samsung 27" curved at a later date.

So my first question to you guys, I'm looking at sticking in a WD 240gb SSD (can get them super cheap through work) for this first bit, than in two weeks upgrade the PSU to prob a Corsair VS450 or Seqotep 500w 80+ Gold.. I'd like the 80+ rating but have never heard of this brand ?

Last one is what graphics card would you suggest. I can max the budget and get a second hand R9 280X or buy a brand new Asus Rog RX460 4Gb, the only 1050's in budget are the 2Gb models so not keen. couple of other cards available secondhand like a 580 and lots of 660's. Would love a 960 but non in budget.

might also have to look at a new case if going with the 280X as current one prob won't fit it length wise. currently gaming off a MSI GE62 Apache with a 860M and its been going well even if a bit loud so just want better than that, not looking to max out FPS or anything.

Redstone:
i7-4770 / Z97 / GTX 980 / Corsair 16GB  / H90 / 400C / Antec EDGE / Neutron GTX240 / Intel 240Gb / WD 2TB / BenQ XL24

Obsidian:

MSI GE60 2PE i7-4700HQ / 860M / 12GB / WE 1TB / m.Sata 256gb/Elagto USB HD Capture Card

Razer Deathadder Chroma / Razer Blackwidow TE Chroma / Kingston Cloud2's / Sennheiser 429 / Logitech Z333

Don't cheap on PSU. Get at least tier 3 from here:

I agree there, but this system is been built on a strict budget, so 1060/480 is off the cards.

but did chack with suppliers and can get a 470 4Gb for a solid price by stretching the budget a tiny bit.

RX470 not bad. Go for it if you have a tight budget.

Lastly get a good PSU

Pricing here is a little funny so struggling to decide...

Asus ROG 470 = $260

Asus ROg 460 = $180

Gigabyte 1050Ti = $215

Second Hand

780Ti = $250

R9 290 = $220

EVGA GTX960 = $220

below $200 is lots of 760's and 660's.

Again just looking for a decent gaming rig, ATM not playing anything AAA, more so playing Mechwarrior Online, CS:GO, Path Of Exile, Paladins and prob GTA V or stuff around there.

I was looking at doing $200

Go for 1050TI if not enough budget.

780TI and r9 290 are power hungry GPUs so I will not recommend them.

@ZM Fongso great deal popped up and I bought a EVGA GTX 580 with money left over for a 500w PSU to run it way cheaper than just a 1050 or even a second hand 660.

Happy with it for a second rig. Should arrive tomorrow

That's good. Hope you can get a decent PSU to run the GPU.
