So i've dug out my account in the need of some advice.

A few weeks ago I started experiencing lag spikes in GTA V, something i had never had before. After chasing what i thought was a software issue i put it down to my CPU overheating, so i cranked to fans up to max and the overheating stopped (I have always had the fans at 50% roughly even when gaming so i though this was a bit weird)

Fast forward to today and i have the H80i working flat out and i keep getting lag spikes in Fallout 4, something i can only put down to the overheating issue again. I have had this AIO 3 1/2 years so is it possible that its starting to fail and will need replacing or could it be something else before i start throwing money at a new cooler i don't need. I don't want to spend much to fix this as i plan to upgrade soon but my PC is becoming unusable for gaming at this rate.

Specs:

AMD FX-8350

ASRock extreme 3 970

ASUS CUII GTX 770

Corsair 300R

AIO's usually wear out over time. What are your temps? Have you tried overclocking it since you first got it?

Unsure what power supply to pick?

Check out my HTPC build.
