AMD only DDR2???

What's the deal with DDR2 800mHz RAM having AMD specific modules?  Also, why is 2x4BG of the AMD only stuff 1/4 the cost of "standard" DDR2?

nobody wants ram just for amd, mostly for 775 socket mobos.

I think there is something with the memory controller? probably wrong on that

"AMD only" is high density RAM that only works with some AMD Chips. I bought some DDR3 "AMD only" RAM hoping It would work with my FX 4300, and only two sticks of it will work at a time. None of them will run with my Xeon or an i7-2600.
