Sound Card?

Go to solution Solved by MayflowerElectronics,

250 USD max

You can pick up anything you want then really.

Standard recommendations are 558, dt 990, ad700x.

You can pick up an o2 amp or fiio product for the dt 999.

What is a good sound card for someone who listens to music more than gaming. Although I do play games too. So don't completely rule that out.  :)

Budget is between 0 and 150 USD.

Both headphones and Speakers

This is my opinion, it doesn't mean I'm right and is liable to change at any time. I may offend of which I apologize in advance.

I'd get a Fiio E10.

Speakers don't need a soundcard.

but won't a better sound card make the sound have a better quality, or am I wrong.

That's not how that works. I suggest you read the FAQ to learn more about sound cards.

The rule of thumb is, for better quality, upgrade headphones/speakers first. If there is hissing, popping, crackling, get a DAC. If they're not loud enough, get an amp.

For why speakers don't need a sound card, an audiophile better suited for this question will come in eventually.

What headphones/speakers do you have? There's a 99.9% chance that a sound card will sound the same if not worse than your on-board audio.

I have razer Carcharias.

Yeah, definitely not. Buy better headphones first.

What would you suggest.
