Good desktop speakers?

Go to solution Solved by MayflowerElectronics,

I'm still gonna say the Corsair SP2500, they sound really good and they aren't very expensive

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16836852001&Tpk=sp2500

Well yeah, but extra $35 is worth it IMO

I'm still gonna say no.

Look for a pair of audioengine A2's.

1) I'm looking for some speakers that are 2.1 and are between 0 and a 150 USD.

2) The second thing i'm looking for is a way to redirect audio from my headphones to my speakers with a switch or something. I also want to be able to control the volume using this "thing".

This is my opinion, it doesn't mean I'm right and is liable to change at any time. I may offend of which I apologize in advance.

Good luck with #2... aint gonna happen.

For speakers, check out eBay for active studio monitors - you can add a subwoofer later if desired.

I'd suggest not getting a 'pc audio' product and instead buying some studio monitors. Someone who knows a little more on the speaker side of things will probably tune in, but heres what mayflowerelectronics said in another post:

Purchase some studio monitors. You can pick up the audioengine A2's for roughly $175, and add a separate subwoofer later on.

Is there really now device that can redirect where audio goes?

Not at a reasonable price - the best one is your computer. Use the rear port for speakers, the front panel for headphones.

Here's a subwoofer on eBay you can add to those monitors: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Sony-SA-W2500-Active-Powered-Subwoofer-With-Orig-Box-/141112910062?pt=Speakers_Subwoofers&hash=item20dafc20ee

Why are these speakers better than the Corsair ones. What do these have that the other ones don't?

Thanks for the Sub woofer.

They have sound quality, the corsair SP2500 is a subwoofer with two crappy speaker attached. Way overpriced. If you want to look for something like that, you can pick up the klipsch promedia 2.1's for less than $100.

This is like saying why is a pre-built computer worse than a custom built? They both work just fine.

The studio monitors will sound much better for the price. That's all there is to it.

EDIT: Goddammit mayflower... Beat me to it.
