Posted April 1, 2017 So finally after finishing my first ever custom build in the middle of 2015 I am seriously starting to see my PC lacking in performance with AAA games. Even with 1080p60fps with newer titles like For Honor I am turning settings on low to keep the frame rate consistent or with Mass Effect: Andromeda having to upscale the game from 900p (which actually doesnt really look too bad imo) to get the frame rate as close as possible to 60. Even though I have both current gen consoles as well, those are mostly for exclusives and are not my main gaming machines. I want my PC to be able to handle the newest games decently so I definitely need to make a change with the rig. Since this is my first custom rig I have never really put much thought into weather or not I'd upgrade this one or go for a full new build. Its been just about 2 years now and I would say have gotten my moneys worth but if upgrading is viable enough for me to be able to put off a new build for a few more years and save the money then I would totally be fine with that. I also plan on potentially getting into 1440p gaming as well as making my machine more viable for content creation (I stream when possible and have a small yt channel) so that's a factor in this too, so Im not sure how viable that would be with my current setup. Anyways any feedback to help me make a decision on this would be great help! I don't have many friends who are into PC gaming and build their own systems. Posted April 1, 2017 I'd say just get something like an i7 4790 instead as well as a newer GPU like a 1070 and he done with it. I love computer hardware and feel free to ask me anything about that (or phones). I especially like SSDs. But please do not ask me anything about Networking, programming, command line stuff, or any relatively hard software stuff. I know next to nothing about that.
