@ Windows uses more memory when it's available. When you have less, Windows optimizes so whatever you're doing works with whatever ram you've got.

The only situation I recommend prebuilt is when the OS bumps the price above a prebuilt of the same spec. And at this price range that is exactly the case.

WoodenMarker I know, but today 4gb is small & since RAM doesn't cost so much, getting 8gb is a good option. It won't hurt.
