Optimised or not, the RX 470 beats the 1050ti in most games:

CPU= i5 7600k + master cooler

GPU= GTX 1050 TI

MOBO= Asus z270-f

Ram = corsair 16 gb 2133 Mhz

case= thermal take h25 + its power supply (500w)

storage = 1TB WD blue

                128 ssd sandisk

monitor = 1080

am looking for a solid 1080(not 4k) gaming experience at mid to high settings + light video editing work + school work+ future proof

am on a budget of 1000 usd and plz keep in mind i still need to buy all my peripherals cause i ve owned a laptop up till now

my logic behind this build is that and overclock-able i5 cpu is future proof kind off at  reasonable price and since am not into 4k i figure the 1050 ti is enough atm and later on i maybe can upgrade the gpu without worrying about the cpu and all that.

so i need any advice about money saving or if some one can suggest a better build more suited for my needs

p.s am not in the us or Canada so i dont have acess to e-bay ..etc ( 2nd hand stuff)

you should try to fit there a rx 470 and get a better psu like seasonic s12ii or corsair cx450m (or any grey labeled one)

Remember to quote me (or someone else), otherwise we won't going to recieve your answers...

PC Specs                   PCPartpicker full performance builds (from350$-1250$)

Get a 7700 non K and a B250 motherboard, it is better.

I also recommend the RX470. I would also wait for Ryzen 5, those will be much cheaper and more "futureproof" since you can overclock any of them, not just the high end like with intel.

But isnt amd's build quality generally less so i'd be paying less today but am afraid it ll break down sooner so i ll cost more down the line

no it is not generally "less". Intel controls more of the high end stuff, amd more on the low-mid tier hardware. Since you are not looking for the best of the best but the best for your limited budget, amd is absolutely viable.

It is the case with some games, that is true for the cpus. But a big reason is that amd did not have any good cpu in the last 5 years, so there was no reason to optimize for it. This has changed after the Ryzen launch.

For the gpus, those depend on the game manufacturer. Most do not care, some are better on nvidia, some on amd.

EDIT: Either way it is usually not a big deal, it is not like it would be unplayable on either one.

@Castdeath97 thnx so much dude i didn't realize that it was that much better and only cost 10 usd more and if i would get the ryzen 5 i would need the z270 mobo , or is the b250 overclock-able?

Ryzen 5 won't work with Intel's motherboards, you will need a AM4 AMD board, so either a B350 or X370 chipset board.

But wait for it to get released and get reviewed first.

Other suggestions:

  1. You can go for 8GBs of RAM now and upgrade it later to 16GB when you need to, this may allow you to afford a RX 480 4GB. Most games generally need 8GB now and upgrading RAM is easy.
  2. Consider getting a locked i7 7700 with a B250/H270 board since it is around the same price of the i5+cooler+Z270 board. It would get you better minimum frame rates in newer games.

Which power supply is this 500W unit?

Generally I wouldn't recommend power supplies included with cases since they tend to be of lower quality, can you find any of the good PSUs in this post:
