S.J.Res.34 Prevention

Privacy is now a commodity.

Congress has just voted to throw American's privacy rights out the windows95 with SJR34, "a resolution that allows Internet Service Providers to collect, and sell your sensitive data without your consent or knowledge". ~ https://www.gofundme.com/BuyCongressData?d=153161068

This effects all of us (whether you are from the US or not), the go fund me above was not started by me, but is the only immediate solution to this problem that we all face.

 Anyone that is well versed in preventing ISPs from collecting your data, please share your methods here.

I figured that I would link to the go fund me as opposed to a potentially biased article and I also figured it was general discussion, because I'm looking for solutions to this issue as opposed to bringing it into the public eye.

Well I would think if you are still using windows 95 you are probably not to concerned with privacy lol.

Ahahaa, you can't buy information of specific people like that. They only sell large chunks of "anonymized" data.

Is there proof that the data is anonymous?

 

That would be a lot better than the privacy apocalypse that people (like me) are worried about. 

 

Not that it negates the overall privacy invasion issue of course.

It may not be publicly available for purchase but you can bet your sweet ass that your ISP keeps data tied to the account owners name and it can be bought whether in mass or for an individual.

I put quotation marks for a reason. They remove personal details but it would be trivial to figure out who someone is based off of their browsing data. IIRC Google was doing something with neural networks to this effect.

I doubt an ISP would sell the data of the politicians that it has in its pockets.
