Oculus rift would be more immersive

An oculus rift would be more immersive for first person but in other games i think it might not feel nearly has amazing. I would get and oculus when they come out instead of a dev kit and just get a good moniter for now.

do you think it could max out far cry 3 with the surround?

no i dont think so... 

 

unless you really like that 3 display surround stuff, one large high resolution monitor would be a better gaming experiences. 7970 can definitely max out games at 2560x1440 with out problem
