I'm waiting for an aftermarket 1080 Ti (Likely the 280W FTW 3), and am wanting to use this media card reader/Fan controller:

I'm not sure what the wattage is for the media card reader/fan controller, and I'm not sure if all the ports will work with my motherboard.

Will I be able to run everything fine, and will the reader work?

Here's the build:

I would have went w/ a Supernova G2 over the Nex, since NEX aren't the best PSU's (based on reviews and the tier list).

I maybe would go to 750w to have head-room when it comes to usage, since you are getting close-ish to the top.

Also why not get 1, 1tb SSD?

edit: The NEX is rated as Tier 4 on the list... G2 is Tier 1. You don't to cheap out on the PSU (I almost made the same mistake, but read reviews thankfully), since it can take down your system. Fact your using a Tier 4 PSU, and a 1080ti, is kinda scary.

Correct me if I'm wrong @STRMfrmXMN, since you know more than I do.

Current System Specs:

CPU: Intel I5-7660K; CPU Cooler: Coolermaster Hyper 212X; Thermal Paste: IC Diamond 7 Carat; Motherboard: MSI Z270 Gaming Pro Carbon;

RAM: Kingston HyperX Fury Black 16GB (2 x 8gb) DDR4 - 2400; SSD Storage: 1TB Samsung 850 EVO; Storage: 2TB Seagate Barracuda 7200rpm;

GPU: Gigabyte Geforce GTX 1070 8gb G1 Gaming; Case: NZXT Phantom 530 Black; PSU: EVGA Supernova G2 650W 80+ Gold, OS: Windows 10 Home

Perfect answer. I really don't know much about PSU's other than gold being more efficient and things like that.

The 2 SSD's isn't preferable, but I got one SSD for Christmas, and the other one I already owned.

Anyway, I'll go with the 750W you suggested.

Yeah the 80+ gold is the effiency of the PSU, it doesn't necessarily mean quality per-say.

Every maker makes crappy PSUs and have crappier line-ups, and good lineups, Ik the EVGA G2 is a solid PSU and got good reviews from Johnnyguru.

Makes sense if you have 2 SSD's, I myself got a free 1TB Samsung 850 EVO for my build.. was planning for 500gb SSD.. but oh well... more storage lmfao.

And having that extra head-room for stuff isn't bad to have, may not be fully optimazing your PSU (since some are the most efficient at a certain load %), but not having to worry that parts aren't be supplied or that if you choose to add insane amounts of lights, etc., because of the head-room is nice to have.

If OP can afford a 1080ti then I don't see why a G2 or G3 would be out of the question, yeah

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.
