Non-reference R9 290

cjeffcoatjr

I am looking into a WF3 or a DCUII 290. Does anyone have an idea of prices an availability? I am guessing it will be in the next month or so and that the price will be around $425 but does anyone have proof of this?

No at this point everybody is just guessing. But the cards will definetely come out in december with board partner cooling solution. The only thing you can do at this point is buy a reference design and replace the cooler, but loosing warranty just because you have to wait 3-4 weeks... depends on you :) .

I think 5 weeks then they would be released. But no one is sure except those guys who are already under NDA.

Just a question: are aftermarket coolers in general cheaper or more expensive than reference designs? I will be picking up an aftermarket 290, but I don't really want to spend over €400 (reference costs around €350 here)

New to Star Citizen? Look no further!

Usually cost the same as reference models or $10 more.

I am also waiting, the non - ref cards seem to be between $20 and $50 more than the ref cards especialy from folks like Asus because they usually redisign the PCB and add higher quality components like better caps and mem. chips plus the coolers are much better.

Intel 4670k, MSI Z97 Krait Edition, 2 x 4 Gbs G-Skill Trident X 2400 Mhz, CPU full W/C loop, Sapphire R9 290-flash to a 290x, Samsung 840Pro 128 Gb SSD, Seagate 1 Tb Hdd, Seasonic SS660x2 Platinum PSU, NZXT 2m white sleeved LED strip. 9 Fans all Corsair SP or AF except 1 80mm high speed for NB/VRM cooling. Corsair 750 full tower case.
