I might take the Maximus Extreme IX, if I go with a Custom Loop, so do u guys have any suggestions on what things I should get, and what it would estimately cost me.

for a start I would get a cheaper motherboard and swap that 1080 to a 1080ti.

For a custom loop you're looking at around £500 with 2x rads, CPU block, GPU block, fittings, pump, res, fans etc which is around $550 ish

7700k can move some heat as can a 1080/1080ti so you want 2x radiators to keep fan speeds low. Go rigid from the off, just get PETG and buy 2x the tubing you think you need to make room for errors, don't be scared of it, it isn't too difficult if you take your time and results are worth it

might be better to look after you find yourself a case, as it allows you to know what radiators are supported

Desktop: Cooler Master MasterCase 5 | i7 6700k @4.7GHz 1.3v | Custom EKWB soft-tubing loop (CPU + GPU) (2x 240mm Alphacool rads)| Zotac GTX 1080 Founder Edition | Asus Maximus VIII Hero Motherboard | Samsung 850 EVO 512GB SSD | 4TB Seagate HDD | 2TB Seagate HDD | EVGA SuperNova G2 750 | Acer Predator XB271HK | https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/xzjRHN

That is a good case, I think it gives you 240/280 at the top and 240 maybe 360 at the front. A lot of you tuber use that case and I believe Hardware Cannucks done a review on it

I know, but it might get a littlebit cramped on the top, because it has a mounting place u can slide in and out

not to sure, never used it but it looks like the tray is offset away from the motherboard so you should be able to have adequate room, just make sure you route the eps cable before you fit the radiator.

Oops yeah.

tweaked the parts list but still leaves you 600 for the loop

Mby Im going with a CPU only loop first, and add the GPU afterwards as this should be fairly easy to do, just have to get a strong enough pump etc.

I like the D5, they are around 100 from ek for a pump/res combo and it is fine for my gpu and cpu with little/no noise.

The benefit with the case is there are actual mounting points for the pump so not drilling or fan brackets.

Just remember 2 fitting per part, think about how you are going to fill and drain.

Fill on Reservoir, drain at the lowest point right?

Yeah at' the way I do it, but you can fill from a radiator if there is a spare port on it
