Recent AMD GPU driver update causing flikering/jittering

Jbay

Hello. So I recently updated the driver of my AMD R9 200 series graphics card to the 17.3.3 driver which I got from amds website directly. After installing it, there are all sorts of screen refresh issues or stuttering or whatever you want to call it. It happens everywhere but only when something is initiated like opening a programme, refreshing a web page, or general mouse movements etc. I tried up to 6 drivers backroll obviously including the previous functional driver and met the same issue even when back to the old driver which never did that before. Clean install each time. Currently back on the latests driver with the same issue. I discovered that when I go into Radeon Settings - Preferences - Restore Factory Defaults, and click on that the issue stops immediately but comes back the next time I restart the computer. It stops each time I click on reset defaults after booting up. I have reseated the graphics card multiple times and tried other slots on the motherboard and reset the bios and ja... Nothing... I don't know what's cooking... Please help.

System specs:

CPU= i7 950

Motherboard= Asus P6X58D - E

RAM= 16gigs corsair ddr3 (2x 8gb)

GPU= amd R9 200 series 2gb (1x)

OS= Windows 10 64 bit

Storage= SSD for OS and HDDs for storage

I uninstalled it the first time normally, The installer of the new driver automatically removed the old one and restarted the system. Other times it was removed via device manager directly. I will try DDU now.

Sooooo DDU? :D

CD drivers are horrendously out of date and from my knowledge, whindows 10 can only install generic drivers so... :P

Remember to quote when replying ;)

Also, the installer doesn't actually uninstall the old one...

I mean I used to have 5 AMD drivers installed back in whindows 7...and I knew it was 5 as I could have uninstalled the "newest" drivers and the old one would show up in GPU-z :P

Okay so I did the DDU thing and I am experiencing the same problem. I then restored factory defaults in the readeon software and it stopped immediately. Reverting to a previous OS is not an option at this point. This is a workstation pc and has a lot of stuff on it.
