balanced US$750

looking for a balanced build around US$750-US$800.

I dont want to give my current build because i want your ideas and i want to see what i could get and where i am wrong. please exclude peripherals and monitors etc. i will probable be doing pure gaming and web browsing. unlikely that i will be doing workstation style work but maybe in the future. i want a nice case as well with a nice glass/tempered glass window with rgb everything xD. i might overclock the gpu but i probably wont do that to the cpu so no 'k' series

Would be great if you can give us your current build, since there are parts you can salvage (RAM, Hard Drive, SSD, Cooler and so on). You can save a lot of money by reusing old parts, that still work just fine.

Here are some build suggestions: https://www.reddit.com/r/pcmasterrace/wiki/builds/

If you want to change the build or reuse older stuff, just quote me.

Yes but we should also keep in mind that it is not a good option if it is meant to last for more time. Its okay if he'll switch the GPU in a year or two but for long run it decreases performance. So first we need to know whether he keeps the GPU for a long time. Because 4GB of VRAM might not be enough for games after 3-4 years. For a long run RX 480 8GB or GTX 1060 should be good.

i have 2 options based on what my parents will say in the future: no upgrading at all or if they let me ( and if i have enough money) i would get a big upgrade to the GPU. its unlikly that i will get small upgrades because its a waste of money since i am on a budget

So no upgrades for a long time or no upgrade at all right?

Thats what I said ask the seller whether the motherboard is having latest BIOS or not and if yes then go with kaby lake i5s otherwise spend 20$ extra and get a B250 board to support kaby lake out of the box.

There is not much you can do with that budget, i would recommend @herman mcpootis's build, since it will perform the best. I have that haswell Xeon (have it in 2 builds) and it performs great, couple that with an R9 Fury and you got a beast system for not much. There is no need to always get the latest and greatest, when you can buy a previous gen and get much more performance for the money.

That cpu is totally useless waste of money. Even a G4400 can beat it and comparing it with a i5 6400 or e3 1231 v3 that thing a useless. Those both cpus will crush the FX 6300. And also he mentioned RGB.

Sorry if I sounded harsh but that CPU is not worth 80$ it is worth 50$ maybe even less as the core count isn't eveything. FX processors have unique design there aren't 6 cores in that thing there are 3 modules and there is all other stuff. G4560 build is better than that man. G4400 is going to give similar or even more performance.

Yes but VRAM is also something we need to keep in mind right? He said that he is not going to upgrade at all or maybe does a huge upgrade. I think it is gonna take some time meanwhile R9 Fury stuggles with games as it is only having 4GB VRAM. If he is gonna upgrade GPU in 2-3 years then this GPU is great otherwise not recommended
