Software requires German Windows?

Hello everyone,

so, I'm about to buy a dictionary for German Sign Language. The system requirements list the usual: OS, RAM, etc. And: German operating system and regional settings.

Has anyone ever heard of such a requirement? It seems very, very weird to me; shouldn't all Windows 10 compatible programs work on *all* Windows 10 systems, no matter the language?

(Obviously my system is not in German, in case anyone was wondering. And I don't want to shell out €50 for this just to find out it doesn't work...)

I've never seen something like that... I have no idea if it will work or not and risking to buy it doesn't seem like a good idea. Technically it should work on all systems whether the language is different or not.

Yeah, I also never in my life heard of something like that... I suspect that either it's because of customer service (i.e. navigating around Windows) or due to some registration, which it requires.

I asked them if I could just temporarily switch display language to German (thank you Windows 10 for finally adding that) and then go back, let's see what they say...
