Hello guys,
Came here straight from the youtube channel since Linus spoke so high of you ! haha

I am thinking of buying a new rig for gaming mostly and so far this is what I am thinking about :

MoBo - ASUS B350M AMD AM4 Led Lighting PCI-E M.2 32Gb/s
GPU - nVidia GTX 1070 8GB GDDR5, 256 bit
CPU - AMD Ryzen 7 1700X

HDD - 1TB (1000GB) Seagate Barracuda 7200rpm 3.5, 64MB, SATAIII 600

RAM - 16GB DDR4 2400MHz Kingston Hyper X (DDR4,2x8GB)
Case - Thermaltake Versa RGB C22 BLACK
PSU - 700W Fortron Hyper APFC

I am by no means a hardware expert, so I am not so sure if the parts will work really well together.
The budget can go up a notch if necessary of course. Wouldn't want to spend my money on a bad configuration.

Any type of suggestions for improvement are warmly welcomed !
Thank you in advance and have a great day.

CPU - Although the Ryzen choice is not necessarily a bad one, the i7 7700K is a faster CPU.

RAM - If the motherboard can support faster than 2133MHz/2400MHz RAM, you should get faster RAM.  It does matter.

PSU - Why did you pick that unit?  Why not go with a trusted PSU OEM like Seasonic, Superflower?

You don't have an SSD.  You would benefit by having one.

Never heard of that PSU, go for a Corsair CXM or something known. It's an FSP unit but I've only found it in European countries and not reviewed anywhere

And go for a different board. Something X series if you wanna push that chip and downgrade to the 1700, the 1700x is a waste of time and money.

BUT

if you are gaming, go for an Intel 7700k instead. It's a faster overall chip for gaming and light content creation/streaming

idk

Fortron Source (better known as FSP) build PSUs for loads of manufacturers, like EVGA and Be Quiet!. They actually manufacture the EVGA GQ and NEX line of PSUs, take that how you will, since NEX is mediocre.

idk

Ok, after some adjustments and taking in consideration what you guys told me this is what I came up with :

CPU: Intel Core i7-7700K 4.2GHz Quad-Core Processor

SSD :  240GB Kingston 2.5" Solid State Drive
Storage : 1TB (1000GB) Seagate Barracuda 7200rpm 3.5, 64MB, SATAIII 600
RAM :16 GB Kingston 2400 MHz (2x8GB)
GPU : nVidia GTX 1070 8GB GDDR5
PSU : BeQuiet 600W SYSTEM POWER 8 80Plus

MoBo : Gigabyte B250M Kaby Lake 1151 USB 3.0

The problem is that I can't use amazon, since the delivery will make me go way over my budget.

first of all, either go for 7700 locked and b250 or 7700k and z270, k chips on b250 = no overclocking

Decent PSU pick.

if you can opt for 8GB x 1 and go for a 2nd stick down the line and get z270, that'd be your best bet

idk

Do you save money by going with the i7 7700, instead of the i7 7700K?  That motherboard will not support the 7700K overclocking features, it is sort of a waste of money.  Get a Z270 motherboard, or go with the cheaper i7 7700.

MSI Z270 PC MATE s.1151 is this ok ?
I am really locked to the choice of local dealers and this is what I found for Z270.
Plus I haven't overclocked in my life and have no idea how to do it.

The PC mate is fine.  It does not have SLI support so you will not be able to add a second GTX 1070... if that is appealing to you.

The non-K i7 7700 does boost to 4.2 GHz.  It is not a slow CPU.  You can save money by going 7700 + B250 + 2400MHz RAM.  If you go with a Z270 board, get faster RAM (2800MHz-3200MHz)
