GPU choice

Akamii

Today i was trying to pick up one card from these 3 cards ..
GTX 1060 3GB MSI
RX 480 Sapphire 8GB
GTX 1060 6GB Zotac AMP! Edition

and actually i picked the zotac 6gb..
the question here is.. did i make the right choice or no? also when i came back to my home, i found that the zotac has no backplate like the msi.. does it really matter?

and ye i picked the 6gb zotac because it was cheaper than the rx 480 8gb

zotac is better than the msi model as it has more vram, being honest the 480 and 1060 are evenly matched, both will give good performance

My Setup :P

Spoiler

Skylake: I7-6700|MSI B150 GAMING M3|16GB GSKILL RIPJAWS V|R9 280X (WILL BE 1070)|CRUCIAL MX300 + WD BLACK 1TB

Since the Zotac card was cheaper than the RX 480, I would say you did make the right choice.  RX 480 is better than GTX 1060, but only by a few frames.  Both cards are great 1080p, 60fps @ max settings GPUs, so you did good. :)

The only way I would've said that you goofed up is if you picked the GTX 1060 3GB.  This card is a cut-down GTX 1060 6GB, and is disgustingly overpriced thanks to the RX 480 4GB cards.  No, the 1060 3GB is not a bad card in a general sense, but it is complete trash for the price tag.

So, good choice!  Go have fun! :D
