Hello,

i've been following Linus for quite a while now and i figured i'd ask the forum for this however im fairly new to stuff like this, so i apologize if my questions seem stupid or my english is not sufficient enough at times. I am currently planning on building a Workstation for myself with a budget of roughly 6000-7000€ as i live in Germany, shouldn't exceed 7000 though. The thing is, i want to watercool it with a custom loop. I know this might not be the most rational decision but i want to make this PC a littlebit of a dream of mine come true, and if i'm gonna spend that amount of money on a PC i figured i'd just do that, so the loop is integrated in that amount.

My original Plan was to simply go with a 6950X and a Rampage V Edition 10 Motherboard, i hoped for something like a 7960X but it doesn't seem to be happening at the moment. So i was wondering if a Xeon would be a good option. I currently have a Lian Li PC 07 from my last PC which i'd like to use, so dual Xeons wouldn't fit and with a new case im not sure how much of a improvement i have with the money spent, but i guess if it's way higher i'd have to settle for a new case. Along with the CPU i was planning on a 1080ti since a Titan XP no longer seems like a good option, which saves me a few bucks i guess. I will reuse most of my Harddrives but will most likely get a new SSD for a clean Windows installation. I'll simply carry over my 5 TB of storage and maybe get one extra Harddrive. Fortunately i already own a Corsair AX 1500i, so i don't need to worry about a PSU either, everything else mostly is eyecandy when it comes to sleeving and stuff. And i was probably gonna buy Corsairs Black Dominators if i can get my hands on them.

I'm really not sure which CPU and Motherboard along it to buy and whether or not a new case would be smart. I love my PC 07 too much to let it go if i can somehow manage that. Any suggestions for a CPU or other ideas are greatly appreciated. And most of the build isn't exactly oriented along budget with the Dominators and the Watercooling i get that, but for a little dream i'm willing to spend some more money. If theres any major flaws in my thinking please point them out, i may be overlooking something, however my goal is to achieve as much render horsepower as possible for Cinema 4D, After Effects and so on while definately keeping the 1080ti as i'm also probably gaming a little more than i should.

Thank you for reading and any help,

greetings from Germany!

Do you have experience with WC before?

If you don't, i recommend getting a pre-build custom-made one from caseking or whatever.
