Is Nvidia drivers universal?

If im going to slot in a 1060 in a PC using a 1050ti (1050ti driver installed) should I reinstall the drivers or the drivers are usable by all nVidia cards?

pretty sure they arent, but DDU/reinstall drivers either way. it certainly cant hurt, and getting a different card may be a good moment for a fresh start.

wondered this myself so i cycled about 4 or 5 nvidia cards through a server i was working on, using the same driver each time. no issues. i think you can use them same driver for cards of the same microarchitecture, but might be wrong. 

 

So for example i think the driver for pascal cards will work on everything from the 1050 up to the Titan XP

this is a sheer technical answer mind you, i wouldn't do it on a PC that i care about, i would uninstall and let windows update find the one it wants to use
