Well hey there.

I have been thinking about getting a new pc as my old one can't really keep up with the games that are coming out now days, as i've never built my own pc and i'm new in this gatecory so i would like to ask your opinions.

CPU  Intel Core i5-7600K 3.8GHz Quad-Core Processor

CPU COOLER  Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler

MOTHERBOARD  MSI Z170A KRAIT GAMING 3X ATX LGA1151 Motherboard

MEMORY  Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3000 Memory

STORAGE  Samsung 850 EVO-Series 250GB 2.5" Solid State Drive

GPU MSI GeForce GTX 1060 6GB 6GB GAMING X Video Card

PSU  EVGA SuperNOVA G2 550W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply

Also here's the link to pcpartbuilder if you want to inspect the build more.

The budget should be around 800-1200€

I'm not so sure about the 1600, PSU and the ram feels like an overkill maybe?

As @TheNextLinus said, you will need to update your bios. If you cant find a friend with a skylake CPU you can (and I am not condoning this) buy the cheapest skylake CPU, update the bios on the board and return it. I have had to do this a couple of times and while you are not supposed to do it, it can be done.

Or: you can get a similar Z270 motherboard, but that is too easy :)

Yeah i was debating between the 480 and 1060 also thinking about 1070 as a choice.

If you can afford it get the 1070, but you would also need a 1440p or 4k monitor. i myself have 2 1070s (Im a bit overkill sorry) i think playing at 1080p with a 1070 is dumb. If you are going for 1080p go for the 480

How big of an progress is updating the BIOS, never done that before and really don't want to start something i can't finish, thanks.

It can be a bit risky, especially if you have never done it, because if it goes wrong, you may end up bricking your motherboard.

You can look online for guides, there are probably some on this forum.

Well i think it would be safer to choose an alternative motherboard then, when it comes to messing up things i'm quite the master for it.

Was thinking about  Asus STRIX Z270-E GAMING ATX LGA1151 Motherboard

instead but it costs a lot more.

This is pretty similar to that z170 motherboard, both cost and spec wise, but with a z270 chipset.

well with the 480 you can max out everything at 50- 70 fps at 1080p i just think wasting the 1070s amazing potential on 1080p gaming is a bit dumb. Anyways who am i to judge

I'm planning on using this rig for 1080p gaming with a side monitor for browing other stuff etc, streams and videos mainly.

Both of my monitors 60hz

Just a little bit of extra info

If they are 60hz definitely get the 480, as in that monitor a 1070 wouldnt be giving you anything. I think your choice would be right and the 480 can easily run 2 monitors
