Hey!

I'm looking into buying a Launchpad Mini MK2 (all I can afford) and I was wondering if anyone here has used a Launchpad before! I'd like to know what made you want one and do you find it challenging to play? Also, do you have any advice on memorising the keys (apart from practice, which I know is a vital part of it)? Do you have any ways to make you remember it easier? What's made me want one is just seeing YouTube videos of it and it's so amazing. The creativity and talent that is produced from it is just fascinating. And at the end of it, you get some pretty lights too :P I hope I can get one soon as I will finally be productive xD Thanks for reading and if you have a Launchpad, I hope you have a great time with it!

CPU: Intel Core i7 8700

I have one.But I don't play it.I Use it as a production tool for Ableton, which is probably what most of the pepole who buy it use it for.If your performing I would save up for the just the regular Mk2 because of its RGB leds.

The regular Mk2 is much more expensive in the UK (around double the price of the Mini MK2) I'm not too bothered about the lights, it's got 3 colours anyways. I'll be doing some recordings of it but I'm more impressed by the talent and creativity rather than flashing RGBs

Both. I'm going to learn by using simple sounds on it at first, then simple existing songs and go to more advanced existing songs. When I've got quite a bit more experience, I'll try doing some remixes and originals.

Too be honest I would recommend the other way.Learn Ableton first.Make a song or 2.It'll give you a much better understanding of the software and it'll get you started much quicker.

Ok, thanks for your advice! I'll see what works better for me when I get one.

I have one but I use it to control video effects or as a big colour board for lighting. I also got a Akai APC40. So beyond saying when you press the button it does something cant say much more then that to help you.

Ah. I'm not too interested in the whole lights thing. Yea it looks cool for when you're playing a song on it but for just lights, I'd say a row of configurable RGB LEDs would be better :P

Not that kind of thing this kind of thing

struggling to find videos online, but basically mapping the buttons in software which controls stage visuals so that you can use the lauch pad to do visuals for a gig.

Not going to watch the whole thing, but I get your point. I thought you meant just set it up so when you hit one button, it will set the whole song off and just do a fancy light show that corresponds to the beat.
