Ok, the last time i pasted my CPU i used Noctua's paste, the NT-H1

And my X580 XEON at 4.2ghz under stress with HT on would easily reach 80c, with HT off, 65c.

Now i bought a big tube of Arctic Silver Ceramique 2 and the temps are as follows. 62c HT on, 51c HT off.

Most reviews show Ceramique 2 as not being that good, yet i have a huge drop in temps?

I have a intel xeon cpu and a 1070 i hope this makes you salty.

you have to replace the thermal paste every few months to maintain heat efficient conductivity

Ryzen 5 3600 stock | 2x16GB C13 3200MHz (AFR) | GTX 760 (Sold the VII)| ASUS Prime X570-P | 6TB WD Gold (128MB Cache, 2017)

Samsung 850 EVO 240 GB

138 is a good number.

Paste was only a year old, and the NT-H1 got better over time by 4c.

It is possible, but i used the same pea method, the cooler was removed and the application was even, though the paste was quite dry.

a year old might be too long for the paste and require new paste.

for me, i know when to reapply paste onto my computer when the temps start to go higher than usual by a large margin
