Let's be honest, everyone has a favorite browser that they use. What is yours? Just don't start a fanboy fight here (had enough of that AMD fanboys). You can give a reason you use it as well. I'll start, I use Firefox. I had live streamed the WAN show yesterday when Luke said "Firefox went bad". I still love it more than Chrome...

Hmmm, I should look into that then, thanks:).

You're welcome.

I like their WebPanel feature. You can set serveral websites like GMAIL for example to have visible on the left panel, when you click it it will open GMAIL on left half of the screen while the right half will still stay the same web page you are on, so you can watch YT for example and go trough your mails at the same time in one tab.

Or be on LTT and YT in one TAB.

Those extra features sound swell. I'm going to test it out now.

I began to use opera over chrome some years back just because I was tired of chrome constantly having 1-3gbs of ram usage.

However, in this last year or so... I really have been wanting to switch back, from massive delays opening links from teamspeak, to spotty support on a large number of sites. It just... It has some features that are awesome, don't get me wrong, like a built in, free, unlimited use vpn, but other features that just piss the holly hell out of me.

On mobile its the same story, theres more support there oddly enough, but chromes mobile design choices in these last few iterations have just made no sense at all. From removing internal management of tabs/windows leaving you with dozens and dozens of versions the app running in your app viewer (Thank god we have that back now), to making the same gottdamm gesture  that reloads the page (Dragging down on the screen) now also will pan you out of your window to view all chrome windows, often times closing the gottdamm page you were just trying to reload.

I'm not some kind of old fart, and I know my damn tech, but seriously is someone just f*cking asleep at google?

Either way opera mobile is just so much freaking nicer. From its ui to the way you can hide it to add screen space back.

Yeah, those gestures pissed me off when I started, and Google really don't care to help mobile users with bugs...

So your telling me I will have to see a therapist, this browser sounds dangerous, but hey, my middle name is tester.

Can't wait to install now.

It is developed by the same people that made original Opera. I don't know if they are still working on it but they should integrate their own mail client into the browser as it used to be in Opera long time ago.

You have pushed me to the dark side, and I just love this browser. Snappy and good. I will still keep Firefox for now, but this may become my daily driver in a couple of days.

:D

Enjoy, you can add the WebPanel sites with the + on the left side btw.

I'm a Firefox user. I did use Chrome for a short time when it was way better than Firefox and I've tested it quite a few times since, but I came back to Firefox once it started catching up. There have always been subtle differences between FF and Chrome as well as obvious differences that make me prefer Firefox over Chrome. I also prefer the Firefox Android app over Chrome for Android since it supports Firefox Sync and addons like uBlock Origin and Bluhell Firewall that make mobile browsing so much easier and faster.

  • Firefox loads images differently from Chrome (last time I used it). Firefox tends to load the whole page at once, while Chrome loads things like the text first and then the images. Because of this, Firefox takes slightly longer to start displaying the page, but less time to display images.
  • Addon support is good for Chrome now, but that was one of the reasons why I went back to Firefox.
  • The UI is more customizable. This could get hurt pretty badly in FF57, but I'll probably still use FF and Mozilla seems interested in helping developers of XUL addons convert to the new format and the APIs currently available for the new format aren't going to be the only APIs.
