No Windows Updates For Kaby Lake

What is your thoughts about locking out windows updates from Windows 7 and 8 on Ryzen and Kaby Lake cpu's. I saw this on another forum and it bothered me about microsoft pushing windows 10 onto people.

I don't care since I don't use either of those OSes anyways.

How does locking out updates = pushing windows 10 onto people?

You may need to reevaluate your logic.

If you deny that logic, there is no way to explain why MS is doing such a thing.

In case of Windows 7 may be acceptable(whose mainstream support is over) but Windows 8.1? Nope.

Well if they are locking out updates to windows 7 and 8 they are obviously trying to get people onto there windows 10 platform. They have been pulling this nonsense since the os launched, forcing people onto it overnight, spyware like ads in windows 7,8 for the free upgrade etc.

Oh I thought you were talking about something different.

This is not news, we knew last year that the new intel and AMD hardware would not be supported on older OSes.

IDK why you are surprised or think this is new...

Even though mainstream support is over they are still obligated to supply security updates for the os. Mainstream support is feature updates as well as very frequent security updates. End of mainstream support is extended support they are still supposed to provide security updates. I think people will find a way around this like they did all the other attempts to get people to move to 10. I dont know what microsoft doesnt get its clear people dont want this nonsense windows 7 has 50% market share of all desktop operating systems including Mac and Linux. For god sakes windows xp which is 16 years old still has 9% market share while windows 10 only has 20-25% a 16 year old operating system that didnt originally have support for more than 4gb of ram has slightly less than half the user adoption of Microsofts brand new operating system.

This news came out years ago.

That means it is old.
