Planning on building a new machine for some development work with android and visual studio or perhaps others aswell.

Plan is to have a machine that can run virtual machines smoothly without having to wait ages for them.

For instance I run Xamarin android player running with intel's VT-X technology. What if I were to choose one of the new Ryzen CPUs in the new build. Curious to know if there are any benefits from the new Zen series in these terms.

Would be grateful if anyone could run some tests with a Ryzen cpu and run the android virtual machines in either android studio or xamarin visual studio.

Ryzen pros: cheap. Awesome.

What you'll want:

solid amount of ram (16GB-32GB)

Good CPU (Any ryzen should do fine)

A low-end (But still solid) GPU (If you want to make games for android...)

Since I am to lazy to put something interesting here, I will put everything, but slightly abbreviated. Here is everything:

Not exactly what I asked for.

The curious case with amd vs intel is a matter of speed in this case. Price isn't the main obstacle.

Last time I ran an android emulator with a amd cpu it took ages for pretty much everything.
