sorry I don't want amd :/

don't shoot yourself in the foot, AMD's ryzen 7 is VERY good in rendering and editing work, where it can match or even beat intel's 6900k. do some overclocking and the 1700 will be about the same as a 1700x/1800x.

I know that ryzen is good for task like editing but I heard horror storys about gaming with ryzen and I don't want to take the risk

what do you mean horror stories? 7700 will get crushed by a 1700 in all creative work. unless you are gaming in 720p low and want 200 fps you won't know any difference.

here's a general idea of the performance, benchmarks at 4:18. gaming performance is around i5 6600k IIRC but it closes in on the 6900k in rendering and editing.

I don't want a dpends on the game cpu I want a cpu that works good every time

not to be rude but different games will perform differently depending on cpu,  thare is no such thing as  "I want a cpu that works good every time" a 5820k beats a 7700k in certain games such as bf1.

the ryzen 7 1700 would perform far better while only being slightly slower in games, that's why we're recommending the 1700 so much.

I'm just mainly going to game so I care more about the gaming side

it depends on the game, resolution, frame rate you want, optimization, what gpu you get if you want to game go for 7700k, for creative work fo for ryzen.

the things I know about is intel I don't know anything about amd that's why I'm weary

look up some reviews online, they all show that rendering and editing results are extremely good and on par with the 6900k while gaming performance is closer to the i5 6600k. you might find abit of improvement with gaming performance in the future as windows 10 and games aren't as well optimized for ryzen yet.
