I have bought a new i7 7700k and I am experiencing issues with its performance.

Setup: z270h asus strix motherboard, 850w evga g2, gtx 1080 strix, corsair vengeance 2133mhz, kraken x61 cooler

all these benchmarks are used with stock settings. I got the latest drivers and bios.

Passmark single thread 2011 score, average on passmark site is 2500 at stock.

cpu-z 2170 score, average is 2300 score.

could this cpu be faulty?

65C @ max load, it loads up to 1.3v aswell

csgo fps benchmark 290 fps, linustechtips has a video where he gets 483 fps with high settings and I even used low.

Any suggestions?

OC your setup, which includes the RAM and GPU. That's really all that seems to be missing for your setup to perform to it's best.

Really, nothing seems wrong with those results of yours.

how about this. My old 4790k at 4,4ghz performed about 20-25% better than this.

overclock it to 4.9 ghz, most 7700k can hit that easily or try to go 5 ghz.

It can handle 4.9ghz but gives me the performance of one at stock :S 2290 single thread cpu-z

2100 passmark single thread (which is still 400 score away from one at stock!!)

already did :/

That is really odd then, but to touch on what you said in the OP with CSGO, changing your video settings isn't going to make a difference since its a cpu issue, even for me with a 980 and 4770k there is not a huge performance jump in csgo to turn down settings

I had a ryzen 7 1700 which I returned and it had the same issue :S and the only same parts from my old rig is psu and SSD

Do you have a buddy near you that you could try his PSU, that could be a issue and might be something to try and rule out if you can

I had the 4790k like a week ago and the psu was working fine then. Too bad I don't have any1 close that could help me with that.

Not sure what to do now
