Hello guys, I've been trying to set up a domain controller on a windows server 2012 r2 however I wasn't able to connect to it due to DNS error.

Obviously like any other network DHCP and DNS are managed by the main router however I have read that you can't use router's DNS to solve windows domain controller, so I need to set up a DNS from the server itself.

How can I setup a DNS to it and automatically getting the domain even when I connect a new PC to the network? Is there any forwarding DNS? How can I solve this?

P.S I don't know if this is the right topic but I see "Throubleshooting" it might incluse this case as well

windows domain controller is a pain in the a*s

you need one and it's annoying to work with

anyways, reset the settings and try again, also have a static IP so no problems will arise

i have done that with all of our work servers and it makes it easier to work with

****SORRY FOR MY ENGLISH IT'S REALLY TERRIBLE*****

Been married to my wife for 3 years now! Yay!
