Depends if it is soldered or not. The CPU may also use an unconventional socket making it only applicable to a few laptop motherboards.

it's probably soldered to the board, and even if it has a socket, the sockets for mobile CPUs are not compatible with desktop sockets.

but hey, the thing turns on and the screen works, so there is a chance the whole thing is still good.

try to slam an operating system on if there isn't one installed already and if that goes well ... congratulations, you got yourself a free laptop

About 1/2 the laptops I've ever disassembled had CPU's that wern't BGA (Ball Grid Array) and the other half were (meaning attached to the motherboard in a non-removable fashion.) There's only one way to find out. If the laptop doesn't work then you have nothing to lose by disassembling it to find out.

i will definetyly concider that as an option if its soldered i will just fix the laptop and roll with it

Here is a desktop board that supports that CPU, though you don't need to get specifically this one if u did buy a board. The socket is PGA988 which is removable. https://m.newegg.com/Product/index?itemnumber=N82E16813153199

Your comment just game me the idea to jerry-rig a laptop motherboard and such inside a homemade computer case for a really thin profile desktop computer.
