4 GPU Card

If you look at this 295x4, on the top, you can see that it is the dual pcb version because of the semi-circle intake at the rear of the card. This means that it has 4 gpu's, not 8.

In that case, the picture still  doesn't make sense.  Even a dual-PCB GTX 295 only has:

  • two DVI ports and a single HDMI port
  • two PCI-E 8pin or 6-pin + 8pin

One GTX 295 is already a dual-GPU "system." Having two of them is already a Quad-GPU "system." That is already Quad-SLI.

In the picture:

  • there are 4 GTX 295's = (2 GPU per GTX 295 card) X 4 = 8 GPU cores = 8-way SLI.
  • GPU Cores = 4 PCI-E power connections, but images has...11...
  • 8 DVI ports = 4 GTX 295 = 8 GPU cores = 8-way SLI

If further algebra and calculus is done...

4 x (GTX 295) = 8 GPU Cores

4 x (GTX 295) = 4 GPU Cores (what you are referring to)

Substitute:

8 DVI ports + 4 HDMI ports + 11 PCI-Connections + 8 Expansion slots

into GPU equation

Set:

8 DVI ports + 4 HDMI ports + 11 PCI-Connections + 8 Expansion slots = 4 x (GTX 295) = 4 GPU Cores

Divide by 2:

4DVI Ports + 2 HDMI port + 5.5 PCI-E connections + 4 expansion slots = 2 x (GTX 295) = 2 GPU Cores

according to NVidia's "Theory of GPU 'Limitity' ", dual-PCB GTX 295 is:

2 DVI + 1 HDMI + 2 PCI-E connections + 2 expansion slots = GTX 295 = 2 GPU cores

Set specs of one dual-PCB GTX 295 from NVidia = one GTX 295 in picture :

2 DVI + 1 HDMI + 2 PCI-E connections + 2 expansion slots = 4 DVI Ports + 2 HDMI port + 5.5 PCI-E connections + 4 expansion slots

In theory, if set (specs of one dual-PCB GTX 295 from NVidia) / (specs of picture) = 1

(2 DVI + 1 HDMI + 2 PCI-E connections + 2 expansion slots) / (4 DVI Ports + 2 HDMI port + 5.5 PCI-E connections + 4 expansion slots)

But...

(2 DVI + 1 HDMI + 2 PCI-E connections + 2 expansion slots) / (4 DVI Ports + 2 HDMI port + 5.5 PCI-E connections + 4 expansion slots) =/= 1

Therefore:

The Limit as number GPUs --> 4, GTX 295 does not exist

Therefore:

"nVidia's Theory of GPU 'Limitity' " =/= value in the picture

Therefore:
