My ps/2 mouse bugs like this at any random time while just using my PC for general purpose. What happened? It started a couple weeks ago and now it's simply getting worse. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling drivers and even replaced the mouse and nothing seems to fix it. Rebooting is the only valid solution I have of fixing it but it still just happens anytime afterwards. Can anyone help?

Could be an issue with cursor acceleration, try reducing the mouse speed to a lower value. 

 

also when it is in this state, can you move  the mouse or interact with anything or is it just frozen.

it works fine like any regular mouse cursor/pointer/device. I can left click, right click, etc. but it just looks like that and I've tried practically anything and it simply doesn't work. maybe I should get a USB mouse?
