Isn't a 470 bit under powered to have with a 8 core 16 threads R7 1700?

I was thinking of getting the Ryzen R5 but was too impatient to wait until Q2 and I am only aiming for gaming at 1080p60.

@deXxterlab97 IMO, it's the same price as a 7700k, so if you look at it. Buy a 4 core or an 8 core. So it's kind of the equivalent of the 7700k.

I have but one of the fan headers and the CPU connector are in quite awkward positions on this motherboard and I would have to purchase a extension for the CPU 8 pin to try and tidy it up.

I also play emulated games on this machine so I think the extra cores help.

Is there no cut out above the motherboard to thread cables through in your case?

Yes but you're talking about an RX 470 being underpowered for an 8 core. Would you have said that for a 4 core? They are the same price. Logically, consumers would buy the best looking one.

Please stop disregarding information and then saying someone is wrong. This isn't the first time you've done it.

So why comparing it with an i7 7700k?

What I meant was a higher end GPU would be nicer to have with an R7 not that he should downgrade his CPU

I did not know what he was doing

There is but it is awkward for the 8 pin CPU to fit because of the restriction of the size of the hole by the motherboard and my top case fans.

Here is some photos after I did a bit more cable management.

The Elgato HD60 pro is currently not in use due to and issue with it and Ryzen. I have notified Elgato support about the fact it is not working.
