let me offer a counter argument

but if you really dotn want to go with amd, get an EVGA card.

as long as the card is in one tier, the FPS difference is really minimal, what should concern you is heat output and loudness of the card.

Honestly just go with a cheaper one because with a few clicks you can OC it to be as fast as a "gaming" version one.

RX 480 seems a better choice in a long run because AMD drivers are getting better and better, while Nvidia drivers get worse the older the card is.

I think in a few recent benchmarks (RE7), RX 480 came out ahead of gtx 1060 because of better driver.

And future games will use Vulkan API, which AMD excels at.

CPU: Ryzen 2 2700@ 4.0Ghz    Mobo: Gigabyte X470 Gaming 7 Wifi    Cooler: EVGA CLC 240    GPU: GTX1080 FTW DT @ 2113Mhz   PSU: EVGA 750W P2

Case: Fractal Design Meshify C   Displays: 34" LG34UC79G, 24" Dell
