Converting a Boot CD to USB Stick

Hi all, 

I have troubles with something I thought would be quiet easy... but looks like it isn't O.o

 

I have an Acronis Rescue CD with what I can create/restore Backups. Now I have a Laptop that doesn't have an CD Drive... So I want to create an Acronis boot USB Stick.

 

Here are the Files on the CD (Look attachment).

 

I actually tried 2 things:

-Copy all files to the USB stick

-Create an ISO of the CD then use tools like Rufus or ISO to USB to create a bootable USB stick.

Both when I try to boot on my NB, the error Message "No bootable device found" comes. Even when I Press F12 on booting, and select "USB Storage", same error...

 

Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong?? :/

copying to stick should have worked actually.

It doesn't list the drive as bootable though. Is there an official CD image of it online?

Not that I know. We bought the Acronis package and there was a CD with that. I just copied the CD. But like I said, when I boot with CD it works without problems...

I guess the easiest option would be to get a small USB optical drive. Besides, how often would you be needing something like Acronis?

Well I need it for the company and we use Dell Laptops. The new series doesn't have any optical drives anymore...

Yeah the easiest way would be an external drive. But I need it very soon and also it bothers me not to know what is wrong (for future uses :D)

I wonder if it is partition related, just a theory. i recently formatted a memtest usb and it had a huge unallocated partition. maybe the files need to be on a special partition

No, only 1 14.63 GB FAT32 Partition.

Can it be that the autorun information from the CD are colliding with the one from the USB stick? Just a guess, I am a noob with that :$

use a program called wintoflash i can create a bootable windows key from cd or from file extracted to a location on your hard drive
